Women’s Empowerment Volunteer in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

As a woman in the Western world, it might be very easy to take your right to equality for granted but it is very different for the women of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. If standing up for women is one of your purposes in life, then TRU Experience Travel’s empowering women project in Tanzania is designed especially for you! You will help the local team work towards a better future for Tanzanian women by helping to create a strong bond with the underprivedleged village women.

Help better the lives of women half way across the world

Life in the local villages around Dar es Salaam city is difficult for women. Despite the city location, half of the population live below the poverty line and according to the 2019 Tanzanian survey, women are nearly twice a likely as meant to have no education, are less likely to own land, have access to bank accounts or have a decently paid job! Most women will stay at home, care for their children and do household chores thus being dependent on their husbands and losing opportunities to succeed in life for themselves! Volunteering on this project will address this and assist women in reaching their full potential and encourage them to improve their futures alongside their families.
