Volunteer Teaching Assistant in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Make a difference and impact the lives of Tanzanian children on this volunteer teaching project with TRU Experience Travel. During this project you will teach English and assist Tanzanian students at  government-owned elementary school. You will have artistic licence to plan the class in any way which you think will have the most lasting impact on the children. Be that through music, songs, games, arts, sports and much more! The opportunities are endless for you to put your teaching skills to the test and positively impact the children of Dar es Salaam.

Take part in an unforgettable cultural exchange

The most important part of this project is giving the children the opportunity to learn about other cultures that they might not otherwise get as it is rare that they will leave the country. The students are always very interested and keen to learn more about your family, country, culture and way of life. Why not bring along some pictures from home and share with them the way of life you are used to, to broaden their minds and experiences.

Discover the beauty of Tanzania with your newfound friends!

Many of our volunteers will plan their own adventures with the new friends they meet along the way, and spend their evenings and weekends exploring their surroundings together. There is so much to discover in Dar es Salaam, from Bagamoyo’s atmospheric ruins and 13th-century mosques to exploring the local Mwenge Woodmarket to cycling and port tours! You won’t be short of things to do during your stay here!
