Environmental Volunteer in Ubud, Bali

Are you passionate about the environment and educating others about the positive change that is needed to ensure a better tomorrow for generations to come? Then this project with TRU Experience Travel is the one for you! You will spend your time working with the local community to understand their environmental issues and how they regard looking after the environment as very much a part of their daily lives!

Work with a great team dedicated to protecting the environment

Bali is well known for its astonishing beauty and greenery but unfortunately its local surroundings are experiencing the negative consequences of the recent rise in tourism. Plastic is one of the main causes of environmental issues around the world and it is no different in Bali. With the change in how food is packaged, you often see people simply throwing plastic on the ground as they are used to food being traditionally wrapped in banana leaves. This is why it is more important than ever to instil in the younger generation the importance of the impact this can have on the environment. Working with the local team you will plan and campaign around local schools the importance of protecting the environment whilst learning about the local Balinese environment you are helping to protect.

Explore one of the most fascinating places in the planet

Your weekends are yours to do as you please during this project and Bali isn’t short of things to do! It has a rich history, evident in current traditions, and in various ancient sites and temples scattered around the island. However, trekkers and explorers will also find a wealth of must-see places as they visit lush forests, mountains and stunning beaches. Check out Lovina, Sanu, Uluwatu and Kuta for everything from spiritual healing to beach parties!
