Ecological Park Rehabilitation Volunteer in Seoul

The Han River is the essential foundation of life for Seoul citizens but it has suffering severe pollution due to fast economic growth and industrialisation from the 60s, causing severe damage to the environment and the ecosystem within. Consistent efforts are required to recover and rehabilitate the ecological park and this is where you come in! If you want to give back to a local community and help protect the environment at the same time, this is the TRU Experience Travel project for you!

Bring your eco-warrior and give back to a community in need

This project is based at Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park which was built in 1997, South Korea’s first ever ecological park. You will take part in a variety of tasks from planting young seedlings and tropical trees, removing invasive species to maintenance work in the plant nursery. Build environmentally friendly fences, pathways for animals, build bird nests and feed wild animals. You won’t be short of things to do that will help contribute to helping save the environment in this community and further afield! So if you an eco-warrior and determined to make an impact to help save the planet then this project is a good place to start!

Explore and discover South Korea in your free time!

You will get your weekends to yourself during this volunteer project so you will have plenty of time to  experience South Korea in a different light. Take time to discover South Korea and its culture, beyond K-pop and K-movies, get a taste of Korean food, take a walk in the royal palace and chill out at the pubs in the coolest town in Seoul. The city is a tapestry of old-world charm and futuristic innovation, where a deep reverence for traditional customers and culture coexists with a forward-looking enthusiasm for technological progress. In short, you won’t be short of things to do and discover!
