Construction and Renovation Volunteer Zanzibar
Trip Details
Construction and Renovation Volunteer in Stone Town, Zanzibar
At TRU Experience Travel our projects are carefully designed to give our volunteers an exciting and memorable adventure whilst doing good for the community. Our construction and renovation project in Stone Town, Zanzibar does just that as you will be involved in renovating local village schools and help students have better learning conditions. During the project you will be involved in laying bricks, doing carpentry, painting, laying tiles and landscaping and gardening, so a lot of manual labour will be required. Whilst it will be tiring it will be rewarding to know you are giving back to the local community!
Get creative and show off your artistic skills!
By taking part in this project you will help the students at these schools and make a difference in the community. Whilst there is a manual and physical side to this project the other side of the project involves a more artistic and laid-back atmosphere. You will be able to use your creative ideas to improve the school’s surroundings and create a positive learning environment within the school.
Immerse yourself in a beautiful ancient town!
Stone Town, Zanzibar is a melting pot of cultures and one of the last ancient towns in Africa. In your free time, you will be able to gain a rare cultural and historical insight into a former era of trade and exploration as Zanzibar was a primary trading post on the spice, silk and salve trade routes for over a millennium! You will find a crossover of African, Indian, Arabian and European cultures alongside a visually beautiful city whilst being overwhelmed with the scent of sea and spice!

From sunrise calls to prayer to sunset over the harbour, every corner offers a glimpse into Zanzibar’s layered history and warm hospitality.
