Community Construction Volunteering Thailand

So many families live under poor housing conditions in Thailand, and that’s why our Community Construction Volunteering project is so important! To improve the living standards of local people, you will help create proper sanitation facilities and renovate community buildings from temples and hospitals to schools. However, we don’t believe in all work and no play, so you will have plenty of time to explore this beautiful country when your day of construction is done! This programme gives our volunteers a great sense of achievement, as they watch their efforts make a real difference to a whole community!

Help bring better Living Conditions to Thai Communities

Firstly, you don’t have to be a handiwork whiz (although that would be great:). Your coordinator will support and supervise you, giving you tasks that you are happy to do and at your level of ability. For example, this might include cleaning the area, mixing cement and painting, to harder tasks such as building up the wall and repairing roofing. This is a fantastic chance to learn some great practical skills. Indeed, you’ll have learned more than you can imagine by the time you leave!

Get a Taste of True Thailand during your Stay in Hua Hin!

Hua Hin is a seaside resort city with fabulous beaches, extraordinary night markets and delicious street food!  Once you’ve finished each day of volunteering, you can explore your surroundings, and take in the sights and sounds of this city’s vibrant culture. However, should you prefer a quiet evening, you will also feel quite at home at our accommodation, which has plenty of great spaces to relax in and socialise, as well as a swimming pool for those hot summer evenings. Whatever your preferences, Hua Hin will give you the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in Thai culture as you help out in the community!

Trip Itinerary

Your time as a Community Construction Volunteer, here in Thailand will be busy! Predominantly, you will be at local people’s houses and local community facilities with the support and supervision of your coordinator. There you will take on construction and renovation work for 4-5 hours per day with a lunch break in between. There is always great banter at these sites, between locals and volunteers, so whilst it’s a bit of hard grafting, it’s also a lot of fun!

Arrival

If this is your first week, you will be transferred directly from Bangkok to Hua Hin upon arrival. Depending on your previous week’s program, you will be transferred to Hua Hin after brunch, with dinner at the Hua Hin centre.

As the only country in Southeast Asia to avoid European powers, the Thai are proud to refer to themselves as ‘The Land of the Free’ and many tourists might also know it as ‘The Land of Smiles’ due to its friendly people.
