Adventure Week in Sri Lanka
This program is specially designed for anyone who would want a week full of a thrilling adventure among the most beautiful natural treasures in the paradise island. You will get a first hand glimpse of the pristine beaches and the richest marine life Sri Lanka is famous for.
Take time to glide along the crystal white waters while rafting at one of the rafting hotspots in Sri Lanka. To top off your natural adventure you will hike in the knuckles mountain range which is one of the richest forest reserves in biodiversity in the world. Your adventure completes with a cycling tour where you will explore the typical Sri Lankan countryside and the most amazing safari ride to see the hundreds of Asian elephants roaming freely among the wildlife sanctuaries.

Week 1 Cultural Introduction to Sri Lanka
Introducing you to the culture and customs of Sri Lanka, the meeting on your first morning will give you plenty of information to help you settle in and keep safe. You’ll need all your official documentation with you at this meeting as all the paperwork will be completed leaving you free to enjoy your experiences. A language lesson will help you to build up an appetite for lunch as you learn useful words and phrases to help you socialise with the locals. In the afternoon you’ll be taught about the fascinating Sri Lankan culture before embarking on a tour of Kandy. Closing your day, a cultural show will provide you with a visual treat.
Today has incredible experiences in store for you, sending your senses reeling with a visit to a Spice and Ayurvedic garden, a Tea Factory and Gems Museum. Giving you time to fully absorb the sensations, you’ll take a relaxing boat trip on the Kandyan lake to finish off your day.
Time to try out your culinary skills in a traditional Sri Lankan cooking class. Then it’s onto a self defense class, essential for personal safety across the globe! A Buddhism lesson in the afternoon will begin to unlock the secrets of the mysterious mythologies and calming beliefs of this interesting Religion and culture.
An early wake up call that you don’t want to miss! Today you’ll start your day in awe, watching the sunrise at the Temple of the Tooth. From there you’ll visit the British Cemetery, the Batik factory and later on in the day a Wood Factory, giving you an insight into the industries present in the culture.
Today you’ll visit significant landmarks. Beginning with the spectacular Bahirawa Kanda – the White Buddha. As it glistens in the sunlight, it will undoubtedly captivate you but also strike a chord of lament with its memorial to the Tsunami victims. After visiting a Hindu Temple, you’ll be treated to an Indian lunch in the city and enjoy an Ayurvedic massage.

Week 2 Adventure
One week of action packed activities from cycle tours, rafting, hiking to snorkelling in some of the most gorgeous natural landscapes in Sri Lanka. Experience the best of Sri Lanka in just one week. Ride along the countryside, do white water rafting, hike in one of the forest reserves rich in biodiversity, go snorkelling and explore the beauty of marine life along with the incredible man made kingdom on the top of the Lion’s rock. Experience a week full of adventure, excitement and thrill.
In the morning, explore the traditional Sri Lankan countryside while cycling across the village and the city neighbourhoods. After lunch, visit a wildlife sanctuary and observe wild elephants roaming freely in the jungle. Stay overnight in Dambulla.
Today visit the 8th Wonder of the world, the Lion’s rock and learn the story of King Kashyapa who built a luxurious castle on top of a gigantic rock in the 5th Century. After visiting Sigiriya, you will proceed to Trincomalee to explore the famous beaches and the underwater world. Overnight stay in Trincomalee.
The day is for the lovers of the sea. You will go on a boat ride to do island hopping and snorkeling today. After your adventures, we will proceed to Kandy for a well deserved rest and get ready for the next day’s wildlife adventure. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Enjoy the mesmerising beauty of nature and explore the various flora and fauna while hiking up to the top of the knuckles mountain range.
On the last day of your adventure trip, you do white water rafting in one of the finest places for rafting in the island.

Kandy, the last royal capital of Sri Lanka is a major tourist destination. About 115 km from Colombo at 465 meters above sea level. Famous for the Temple of the Tooth and many other temples the city could be called the cultural capital of the island. This bustling market town is rich in cultural diversity and has plenty to offer to the tourists from songs dances and handicrafts to ancient temples and adventure activities. Kandy was a royal capital and the last stronghold of the Kandyan kings against foreign powers, holding out against them for about 300 years. The two main Buddhist Chapters are based here and formed the last centre of independent Buddhist thought during colonial times.
Accommodation & Food
You will be accommodated in one of our centres which are located 2-4 kilometres away from Kandy centre. The accommodation holds 4-10 people per room on a single gender basis. Private rooms can be requested and are subject to availability, please contact us before hand if you would like a private room.
You will be provided with three meals a day on weekdays and two meals per day on weekends. The meals are a mix of Western and Sri Lankan food, consisting mainly of vegetarian dishes including rice and vegetables. You can also eat out at any of the local restaurants.
Our house is located 2 kilometres away from the city centre, where you can find anything you might need.
The nearest ATM and supermarket are a 15 minute walk away from our accommodation.
Sights & Surroundings
The places to visit during your weekends or on your project holidays are the Royal Botanical Gardens, Knuckles mountain range, Udawatta kele sanctuary, Hortons plains national park and the railway museum.
